Hash Trash 29 August 2008

The old farts are at it again, this time lugging their saggy arses and bottles of cheap wine to Lee's Paddocks under the mis-direction of Hare Dyke.

Hashers are directed to meet at 8.30am (yawn) at the Big Apple at Spreyton.  Bring the usual crap required for a day walk at this time of year in Tasmania (sturdy walking boots, thongs, thermals and sunscreen etc), lunch and liquid refreshments.  Afterwards, assuming you make it out, re-gather at the Sheffield Pub for a counter attack.

No raffle, no trail, no shortcuts.  Sounds rather like a Chardonnay run.

Hash Trash 22 August 2008 - Wild West Weekend

Yee and Haw. Howdy pardners!

This week's Burnie Hash is a rootin' tootin' affair from the ol' Bischoff Saloon in the wild west town of Waratah.

Gunslingers and purdy young gals from around the state will be saddling up and heading south for Burnie Hash's 950th bash.

Deputy Sheriffs Urang and Phay Ray have been on the trail of Billy the Bastard and the posse will gather from half an hour past high noon to get yer allocated bunk for the night and then ride out in search of this notorious short-cutting bastard at 2pm. The Sheriffs warn that the trail gets mighty wet and sticky, so no wearing of your Sunday best, yer hear?

When the outlaw has been secured, the posse will circle up and chew the baccy, before getting changed into their dancin' clothes for a nosh up and ol' fashioned hoe-down!
At sun-up there'll be a good ol' hangin' and another trail to follow for thems what hasn't had too much 100-proof rot gut.

Deputy Phay Ray sez you'd better rug up nice and warm like, and bring a decent wad for yer ears, cos them gals get purdy noisy singin' them songs (not ta mention those snorin' ranch hands).

HHH Hash Trash 15th August 2008

After two weeks of chasing French Harriettes on Tour around the Globe, this week Burnie Hash reverts to 'normal' with a B A Stard of a r*n starting at 3:30pm from the old Penguin tip, Montgomery Rd, Penguin (turn left approximately 2.7km from the start of Ironcliffe Rd).

Bring bathing togs for a dip in the spa.  It's not heated, but at least it holds water.
Bring a hat, mug, joke, friend, piece of wood, widget and $10, which gets you drinks and tucker.  Bring extra money for a chance to win a cheap key ring that you donated anyway, courtesy of GonZo's near inexhaustible raffle bag.

HHH Hash Trash 8th August 2008

This week Burnie Hash goes global as the hashing sisterhood celebrates a day where too much chocolate and champagne is barely enough - the 6th Global Harriettes R*n.

Hare DT will be hosting a cock tale (I'm sure I spelled that right) trail starting at 3:30pm from Oz Rock Inn, Beach Road, Ulverstone (there may still be a few Tour de Pissed hanging around).

No males allowed this run, but traditionally the numbers are bolstered by the sort of women who don't get out that much and for whom there is no Lady Gillette strong enough.

To add extra spice to this year's trail, hashers are asked to 'bra up and bra out' in support of Rotary's Project Uplift. Wear a bra over your outfit then donate it to the charity, which is assisting disadvantaged women in Fiji.

Cost is $10, which gets you drinks and nibbles, plus a commemorative badge.

After the echoes of the last cork have died down hashers are invited to reconvene at 1054 Isandula Road, Gawler, where there won't be a party for someone who is not turning 60 and who's name isn't Ratchet. BYO grog for the evening and prepare spend the evening passed out on the garage floor.

Dress: Like a Harriette. This will include a bra which you will nobly donate to the Rotary Uplift Charity. Yes I know some Harriettes don't wear bras. Get over it. Just wear one. Or several.

Cost: The usual, $10. This will buy you a cocktail, chocolates, circle drinks (pink and fizzy) and tucker, possibly including birthday cake.
