Mid-Week Hashit Nominations

Speed Hump would like to nominate Speed Hump for getting in the wrong car to go home last Tuesday night. Dini’s steering wheel looks very similar to mine (it’s round, and near the driver’s seat) but the key doesn’t fit … Beats me why witnesses Subby, Nicer or A Bit of This didn’t dob and nominate.

CHUNDER
Quite literal this week - Chunder is the only one who knows how to re-attach the phallic hood ornament after it's extended stay with Nicer Pair-a-Tiffs

Vale Monty Munden

Vale Monty Munden

A pussy for all seasons - departed the last of his nine lives January 13th 2007.

My great friend Monty was a fine example of his Oriental breed; tall, elegant, faintly striped charcoal with almost constant conversation and a magnificent voice.  Many of his personality traits were those to which his owner aspires; a seeker of warmth and comfort, a passion for singing loudly out of tune late at night, an appreciation of native birdlife, and the preservation of an aristocratic demeanour balanced with a healthy dose of rough.

During his 12 odd years, Monty conducted a great deal of first-hand research:

·       the causes of allergic reactions to felines in humans
·       flea collars and how to lose them
·       the habitat of the mixomatosis flea
·       internal parasites, where to find them and how to share them around
·       fine furniture and its efficacy as a scratching post
·       carpet staining techniques using blood, fur, feathers and the green wobbly bit
·       the rising cost of snakebite treatments
·       administration of medication for beginners (funnel and first aid kit included)

He was a member of The Dismemberment Society, the Canine Offence League, the Fel-Harmonic Choir, and held a Gold Frequent Shopper card at Uncle Roger’s Veterinary Practice.

Monty welcomed all comers to our home by occupying their lap, pumbling delightedly with claws fully extended and purring like a Lamborghini.  Not everyone appreciated this, but they all remembered him and they, like me, will miss that welcome next time they come through our doorway.

On On to cloud nine pussy hash.

HHH Burnie Hash Trash Jan 19

Flushed with success from previous trails from the Burnie Sewerage Treatment Plant and the Penguin settlement ponds, Lone Arranger will be setting S-bends and long drops this Sunday from the East Wynyard public toilets at the end of Lockett Street. Head in to Wynyard off the Bass Highway roundabout, turn left and then look for the kiddies playground and car park on the right.

Trail starts at 5:30pm; bring a hat, mug, joke and a penny to spend (adjusted for inflation to equal $8 for hash bucket and barbecue, plus extra for some sh*t prizes in the rigged raffle).

A reminder that the Burnie Hash blog site (www.burniehhh.blogspot.com) is now operational, providing an avenue for hashers to post items of interest, such as results of embarrassing medical tests, latest restraining orders or your favourite fizzing pasta recipe. Just send an e-mail with your news item to burniehhh.trash@blogger.com.

The Burnie Hash website (www.burniehhh.org) will still be used for more ‘static’ items such as photos, history, contacts and Slack Mac.

You can also see what our friends at the DickHead hash are up to at www.dhhh.blogspot.com.

AGPU

The date for the AGPU has been changed, but to which one?

The original advertised date of 8th April 2007 was pointed out by A Bit of This to be Easter Sunday.

It is now left to the JMs to decide jointly whether it will now be Saturday 14th or Saturday 21st April 2007.

If you want to pretend to be the shadowy figure controlling Burnie Hash you should exert your influence with whichever JM is under your control now.

Cloud Nine Hash

Burnie Hash wishes to express its sadness at the passing of Wynyard hasher Jeremy 'Steamy' White.

Steamy didn't ever hash with Burnie, but was part of the Burnie City Council team assisting with the NW Tasmania Nash Hash 2007 bid.

Steamy joins other hashers in the Cloud Nine Hash, where good trails and cold brew are plenty.

Poste, the firste

It's not often we follow Devonport Hash, and the last time we did we spent three hours lost in the Dial Range. In the dark. With one very small torch and a mobile phone.

However, this time we follow Devonport Hash into the world of blogging, which hasn't got anything to do with eating too much cheese.

While our award-winning website (http://www.burniehhh.org) will still be there to hold a small pen torch up to a world much in the dark about all things Hash, this blog site provides greater scope for up-to-date hash news and also allows others to contribute to the rich tapestry of Hash jotings.

Hats off* to Devonport H3's Gone Again for leading the way - just don't get us lost.

Enjoy. Participate.
