HHH Burnie Hash Trash Feb 23

The exodus begins…

As Nash Hash nears and the play-away pack readies itself for the journey north, the remaining Burnie Hashers prepare for the alternate Nash Hash in NW Tasmania, starting this Sunday with Chunder’s pre-lube – the Great Burnie Pub Crawl. Details are a secret, even to Chunder, but the trail may or may not involve pubs and crawling…it also may or may not be great.

Trail starts at 5:30pm from the eastern end of the foreshore car park on North Terrace, Burnie, opposite the Beach Hotel. The on on, however, will be at a pub, so you will need to bring a bit extra cash should you decide to order the pheasant-under-glass instead of the rissoles.

UP AND CUMMING…

Happy birthday ABoT and Noodles

Happy birthday to our resident nomadic hasher*, A Bit of This, mistress of the dark ale and the Bill-seeking rotating antenna.

Happy birthday also to Noodles, who has turned 18 three times this week.

* can you have a resident nomad?

HHH Burnie Hash Trash Feb 16

This week’s hare is wet behind the ears - and behind other bits too private to mention. As Noodles celebrates her 18th birthday in the normal fashion over the course of the weekend, hare Dini invites Burnie hashers this Sunday to clean up the dregs and have a short stroll and a longer dip in the heated pool. Hmmmm, smells like teen spirit.

The trail starts at 5:30pm from Ringo and Dini’s place at 448 West Mooreville Road, Burnie.

Bring a bathers, hat, mug, JOKE and $8 (plus extra for rigged raffle).

Farewell to Boo

'Tis another sad note to mark the passing of Babu (Boo), much-loved hash hound and leg-humper of Sub Woofa, staunch guardian of the Cambridge family and much-feared ball biter of some Burnie hashers (those with balls, obviously).

Boo had to be put down after it was discovered that she had polyps bursting internally, and is now chasing down the hash horn at Cloud Nine Hash.

HHH Burnie Hash Trash Feb 9

Love is in the air, although it could be the three-week old leftovers I’d just removed from the fridge.

With Valentines Day imminent and Ratchet and Knickers wedding anniversary also this week, how could a bunch of old softies like us not use this week’s r*n to wear our hearts on our sleeves and sprinkle rose petals wherever we walk? Yes, it means that the nude, mud wrestling-slash-fart contest theme originally put forward is on hold.

The trail starts at 5:30pm; not from the Ratckers Ranch, but still on Isandula Road, Gawler, 6.05km from the turn off North Motton Road.

There is a detailed description of the r*n on the Burnie blog site (http://www.burniehhh.blogspot.com/) if you are the sort of person who reads the end of books first to see whodunit.

Bring a hat, mug, JOKE and $8 (plus extra for rigged raffle).

A GPS warning and other titbits!

Greetings Grizzly,
I'm not sure if the following meanderings are what you want for the blog site ... if they are please use them, abridge them, plagiarise them even... if not there is always the delete button!!!
----------------------------------------------
These GPS things are fine and are I'm sure a godsend to people who tend to get lost on the way to hash r*ns... they must have improved greatly from the one my son had in the Gulf in 1991.... he managed to lose himself and his tank in the Saudi desert when practising how to catch errant Iraqi soldiers and/or their leader... eventually having to be rescued by a genuine Bedouine Arab plus compulsory camel!!!
More recently there was the story of the lorry driver following his GPS instructions only to find himself stuck in a very narrow English lane between a church and a brick wall or maybe it was a rock and a hard place...whatever ----- I think I'll stick to the old road map for now even though I failed to find Alma Bridge the other week!
Has the story of the Good Samaritan reached Burnie yet? A kind Hasher gave a lift to a Hash friend who had imbibed one to many glasses only to be pulled over by a random breath test van 300 yards from the passengers home. Yes they were BOTH over the limit though only the driver lost his wheels for three months... there must be a moral there somewhere???????
Now another reason for Trashmania: H5 are planning a w/e at Hamilton which clashes with the Bream Creek Show r*n ..a must on many southern Hashers calendar.. I did hear that H5 were considering a date change.. not confirmed as yet.Neither bothers me as I am house sitting that w/e so wouldn't be attending either!!
Enough waffle from the wanderer and her dog..

Burnie HHH club polos

We are looking at getting club polo shirts made up prior to our departure for Nash Hash. Attached are pics of the colours chosen (after much consultation and then picking them out of hat because no one could decide) and the embroidering to go on it.

We now need you to choose a colour (should you want one) and let us know your size.

There are two styles, ‘mens’ and ‘ladies’, although not all sizes in each; I for one am bitterly disappointed that there isn’t a larger size that will show off my attractive waist.

Ladies sizes:
8 (bust size 45cm)
10 (47.5)
12 (50)
14 (52.5)
16 (55)
18 (61)
22 (67)

Mens sizes:
XS (chest 50cm)
S (53)
M (55)
L (58)
XL (61)
XXL (64)
3XL (68)
5XL (73.5)

We will work out cost and advise before ordering, but I would expect that the overall cost will be subsidised by this year’s ill-gotten raffle gains.

As we have to get things moving quickly, please get your ‘order’ back to me ASAP.

HHH Burnie Hash Trash Feb 02

This week’s hash is the second (now) annual breakfast run set by Speed Hump from the House of Hump, 120 Mount Street, Burnie (S41 03.405 E145 54.246 for those with GPS)

An early morning stroll (8:30am start) is followed by a gourmet breakfast cooked by Burnie Hash’s very own Ironing Chef* and some early morning heart starters.

Cost is still the normal $8; bring a hat, mug and JOKE!

* yes, it’s a play on the Iron Chef title, but the irony shouldn’t be lost (pun unintended)

Needless to say, there will not be a r*n in the afternoon – everyone will be asleep on the couch by then.
